SDG&E Submits VGI Activities Mid-Term Report
SDG&E submitted its Vehicle Grid Integration ("VGI") activities mid-term report through June 30, 2022. SDG&E provides information regarding implementation of VGI pilots, customer programs, and incentives related to VGI. SDG&E currently has only two programs on a VGI rate: Power Your Drive ("PYD") Pilot and Vehicle-to-Grid ("V2G") Pilot. SDG&E also proposed a new Electric Vehicle Demand Response Pilot ("EVDRP") in the recently filed Application (A.) 22-05-003.
SDG&E Programs and Incentives Related to VGI:
Power Your Drive ("PYD") Pilot: 3,000 chargers with unique VGI rate installed in multi-unit dwellings
Vehicle-to-Grid ("V2G") Pilot: 6 electric school buses with bidirectional chargers
EV Rates
V2G Alternating Current ("V2G-AC") Pilots: SDG&E is capable of accepting up to 6 interconnections within a year
Emergency Load Reduction Program ("ELRP") Pilot: Offers $2/kWh for incremental load reduction or export
V2G-Export Rate: proposed rate to provide routine, non-emergency compensation for participating, non0net energy metering ("NEM") customers exporting power to the grid
Electric Vehicle Demand Response Pilot ("EVDRP"): proposed pilot to offer customers options to optimize charging, receive incentives to offset their energy bill, and to participate in demand response events that provide benefits to the grid
